Mama Movement with Angela Marquez
Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
This class is specifically designed for mothers to enjoy a good old fashion dance class while being able to bring your baby along. No carrier needed! My goal is to help you rediscover your body through dance. This Jazz contemporary fusion class is a perfect combination of a full body warm up, across the floor conditioning, and unique combinations to build on. We will take things at a comfortable pace that does not intimidate our bodies but encourages them. Whether you’ve previously danced or haven’t danced at all, YOU are welcome to join! Grab your little, get out, come move, and find your body again!
Contemporary Fusion with Thea
Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
In this class, we will balance finding a deeper sense of internal self-awareness with an external emphasis on inclusion and community building. We will explore many different avenues in which to do this, so come experience it from your own perspective! We will begin class with guided breath work and heat-building techniques borrowed from both Yoga & Pilates lineages respectively. Following this, activities such as guided improvisation, partner / group improvisation, or movement sequences that travel throughout the space. We will then learn center phrasework in a variety of ways – visually, socially and experientially, all the while being mindful to include a diversity of student skillsets and creative learning preferences. Our movement styles will include a contemporary fusion of release technique modern, jazz, and hip hop with a focus on relationship of body to musicality. Our class time will come to a close with a sense of connection and integration. If you’re curious for more or have questions, reach out to me below. Please come join us, you’re so welcome here!
